Despite being well-established as a businessman by paternal heritage, Moshiur Rahman Sumon is a successful entrepreneur with multifaceted talents and a dedicated social worker. He was born on December 12, 1980, into a prestigious family in the Laxmibazar area of the capital, Dhaka. Since his student days, he has had a deep passion and strong attraction for photography. In particular a unique fascination for sports photography developed during his college life, which greatly inspired him to enter the world of news photography later on. At the beginning of his career, he left a mark of his creative skills working as a photojournalist for ‘Dainik Samachar’ and ‘Joy Porajoy Dotcom.’ However, being the eldest son of the family, he eventually settled into the business arena to take over the responsibilities of his ailing father and oversee the ancestral business.
Currently, Moshiur Rahman Sumon is serving with great reputation as the Managing Director of the traditional ‘Three-Star Hotel Imperial International,’ located in the Gulistan area of the capital. Not only focusing on the growth of his own business, but also with the aim of creating a skilled workforce to eliminate unemployment, he, along with his younger brother, established a high-standard ‘Hotel Management Training Center.’ From this institution, numerous young individuals complete specialized training as cooks and chefs every three months, earning certificates and serving with distinction in various prestigious star hotels both at home and abroad.
Despite his business preoccupations, he is closely involved with various service-oriented and social organizations. He has proven his leadership qualities by serving as the President of the Sirajganj Jamuna Club for two consecutive terms. In recognition of his social welfare work, he has repeatedly received honorary mementos from the national-level children’s organization ‘Amra Kuri’ and the international service organization ‘Lions Clubs.’ Currently, he is serving in important positions such as a distinguished member of the Central Committee of Lions Clubs International and the Vice-President of the Bangladesh Photojournalists’ Association.
Global recognition for his outstanding contributions to photography and the hospitality industry came in 2025. He was honored with the highly prestigious “Excellence in Photography & Hospitality Award” at the ‘Asian Professional Achievement Award’ ceremony organized by Season Media in Kathmandu, Nepal. Through his honesty, dedication, and professional competence, Moshiur Rahman Sumon has elevated himself to a unique height in the sectors of business, journalism, and hospitality. Currently he is also serving as a Senior Photojournalist at ‘Kriralok,’ the country’s traditional sports media outlet.
